Frequently Asked Questions
What is Drupal?
Drupal is a free, flexible, open-source content management system, written in PHP. It's the framework that I use and recommend whenever I'm about to start on a new website project. It allows site administrations to log in, and add, edit and delete content from within their web browser, and without having to edit or upload any HTML or PHP files. I have been working with Drupal since 2008, and use it on a daily basis at Proctor & Stevenson. For more information about Drupal, ask me or visit Drupal.org.
What is PHP?
PHP is an recursive acronym for 'PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor'. It is a widely-used open source general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for web development and can be embedded into HTML. For more information on PHP, ask me or visit php.net.
Do you only work on Drupal projects?
No. I'm also happy to work on static HTML/CSS websites, or any website or application that's written in PHP.
Are you available/looking for a new full-time permanent/contract role?
No. I'm currently employed full-time at Proctor & Stevenson in Bristol, so I'm not available for any other full-time work. If my circumstances do change, then I'll update this site and let everyone know.
How do you accept payment?
With most projects I request a 50% downpayment prior to scheduling the work. This is payable by via bank transfer, PayPal, cheque, or with a bank draft in GBP (Great British pounds). Details are included in my invoice, and the remaining 50% is payable upon completion of the project, prior to any work being deployed live.
